35 Articles of Impeachment Presented by Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio
Hello. My name is Leola McConnell -- Nevada Progressive Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate in 2010. I consider Senator Harry Reid to be the most ineffective (and weak) majority leader in the history of the U.S. Senate.
My first act (if elected by the citizens of Nevada to represent them inthe U.S. Senate' 2010) will be to convene hearings on the legality offormer president Bush's many constitutional violations, signing statements, renditions program, domestic spying program, testimony by Bush administration officials before Congress and the United Nations prior to war in Iraq, (with special emphasis on the Downing Street Memos) authorizing the torturing of detainees and violations of the Geneva Convention -- which include crimes against peace, war crimes and crimes against humanity to say the very least.
One of those very leasts were George Bush's personal complicity in the death (murder to be precise) of my friend Margie Schoedinger in September of 2003. Determining the exact whereabouts and contacts of [then] president-elect George Bush on September 21 thru 22, 2003, should be entirely lacking in difficulty.
The citizens of Nevada can rest assured I will see to it that [then] former president [Bush] will not continue to go unpunished for his past criminal actions due to Senator Harry Reid's failures to defend the Constitution of our republic as the senate's majority leader. There are no statues of limitations on many of these activities by the Bush administration especially the murder of a U.S. citizen for any reasons whatsoever.
I, like the rest of Nevada, watched Senator Reid work overtime doing everything humanly possible to prevent Jack Carter's 2006 election attempt to unseat Republican Senator John Ensign. Senator Reid's actions were identical to Zell Miller and Joe Lieberman's treachery against the Democratic party. The only political instructions I can think of that are as important for Nevadans as divesting ourselves of Senator Harry Reid is making sure the Yucca Mountain Project is decommissioned once and for all. The long term viability of Nevada to prosper in the years ahead depend on both being sent packing by Nevadans.
President George W. Bush is the most mendaciously dangerous leader of a western nation since Adolf Hitler. On the first day of Senator Reid's leadership in the senate -- the impeachment of President Bush should have been Senator Reid's top priority.
Instead, the senator from Searchlight, Nevada, took impeachment off the table saying "while he believes impeachable offenses were committed by Bush there isn't enough time" and if there were time that would only leave us with Cheney as president. You can listen to Senator Reid's lame excuses for yourself here. Senator Reid's lame excuses may hold water with his center-right Nevada constituency, but Progressive Nevadans like myself clearly see it for what it is -- fear and political ineptitude.
Vincent Bugliosi's, "The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder."
But first things first. And that is seeing Senator Reid replaced as the Democratic party's leader in the senate. Senator Christopher Dodd (D-Conn) comes to mind as a worthy replacement. Although Senator Dodd's uncharacteristic vacillation when asked did the United States invasion of Iraq meet the standards of aggressive war troubled me deeply I still would prefer to see him as majority leader than Senator Reid (Senator Dodd's father [Thomas Dodd] was chief counselat the Nuremburg Trials and I believe he would have said undoubtedly the invasion of Iraq meets the criteria of aggressive war).
